Cookie policy

This policy explains how the website of M&A SIGNS AND PRINT LTD (M&A Signs & Print) uses cookies and similar technologies, in line with the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and the UK GDPR.

What cookies are

Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies, such as your browser’s local storage, work in the same way. Some are needed for a website to work; others need your permission first.

What we use

Strictly necessary (no permission needed):

  • masp-cookie-consent (browser storage) — remembers whether you accepted or rejected Google Maps, so we don’t ask again on every page. It stays until you clear your browser data.
  • When our staff log in to manage the website, WordPress sets login cookies for them. Visitors don’t get these.

Third party, only with your permission:

  • Google Maps (our map) — until you agree, you see a picture of the map that our website made from OpenStreetMap data (© OpenStreetMap contributors) and sends from our own server, and nothing is loaded from Google. Google’s map loads only after you click “Accept” in the cookie banner or “Show Google Maps” on the map. When it loads, Google may set its own cookies and receive your IP address. Map without cookies:

  • OpenStreetMap (only if we switch to it) — you would see the same picture first; your browser would then load the live map from openstreetmap.org, which receives your IP address to send it. It sets no cookies, so it needs no permission. See the OpenStreetMap Foundation privacy policy.

We do not use analytics, advertising or social media tracking cookies.

If we switch on online ordering in future, the shop will also use strictly necessary basket cookies from WooCommerce to remember what is in your basket; this policy will be updated when that happens.

Changing your choice

Use the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of any page to accept or reject Google Maps again. You can also delete cookies and site data in your browser settings; the banner will then ask again.
